Unlike in previous years, the Football RPF Spring Fling 2019 will be a WIP Amnesty round!
How does it work?
- From now until June 30th, the 2019 Spring Fling AO3 Collection will be open for any and all of your Football RPF WIPs. There will be no sign-ups, claims, or assignments.
On May 4th, a list of Prompt Offers will be made public for fellow participants to see what’s being worked on if you want to submit encouragement for a particular idea, but there won’t be claims or assignments this round.
The collection will remain unrevealed, but not anonymous until reveals on June 30th.
- Because this is a WIP Amnesty round, some of the regular rules do not apply:
- works do not have to meet length minimums
- creators will choose which prompts they’d like to write, rather than have them assigned to them
- you may choose to gift your work to someone, but it’s not required
- ideas you’ve claimed or talked about in namespace are eligible
- you can use any fics you submit to fulfill another challenge
- When the collection closes, a masterlist of all submitted works will be created and circulated as in previous years.
All players—men and women! current and retired!— teams, and managers are eligible.

To everyone that participated, helped beta, offered to pinch hit, spread the word, and read/left kudos/commented on the works: YOU ARE THE BEST AND WE LOVE YOU. This exchange wouldn't be anywhere without y'all and we are so happy to be running it :D
Like last year, we wanted to open up the floor for feedback and discussion. Knowing what worked for participants and what didn’t helps us to create an even better Spring Fling experience next time - anonymous commenting is enabled, so no need to create an account if you don’t have one.

Participants, your assignments were sent out via email. Check your inboxes! If yours mysteriously didn’t make it to you, send us an email or a message and we’ll make sure you get it right away.
Guidelines for assignments and other FAQs can be found here. And remember, anyone can sign up to be a pinch-hitter or a beta, and there’s no commitment for either!
Assignments are due by May 5 at 11:59 PM PST (What time is that for me?)
In the meantime, we’ll be here to answer any questions or concerns you have. Now go out there and get creative!

Sign-Ups Are Open!

Fill out the sign up form here!
- Sign up and submit 3 - 6 prompt offers that you’re willing to fill with fic (at least 1,000 words), art (at least cleaned line art with some shading and/or coloring), or a fanmix (at least 10 songs, a cover, and 100 words of description or fic)
- Once sign-ups are over, everyone’s prompts will be collected and published for claiming. Pick prompts (not your own!) that you want to see filled. Minimum and maximum number of claims will be determined once we have the full prompt list, but minimum will likely be no lower than 3, and maximum no likely higher than 15.
- Get matched with someone that requested one of your own prompts.
- Fill the assigned prompt.
- Gift the finished fic/art/fanmix to your recipient and get a fic/art/fanmix you requested
- Profit \o/

You will be able to edit your sign-up after it's submitted. Google will automatically send an email with the edit link to the email address you use to sign up, and your form can be edited as many times as you like until sign-ups close on March 9th at 11:59 PM PST (What time is that for me?)
As a reminder, if you signed up for last year’s Football RPF Spring Fling and want to reuse your unfilled prompts, you’re welcome to do so as long as you did not de-anon your prompts. If you’re unsure, you can check last year’s list of de-anoned prompts here.

We’re back!
Sign ups for the Football RPF Spring Fling will open on Thursday, March 1st.
Football RPF Spring Fling is a reverse exchange for fic, art, and fanmixes featuring our favorite footballers. It’s an excuse to round up some of your ideas and finally get one finished—and be rewarded with a gift! You can find more details about how the reverse exchange works here.
If you’d like to join us this year, now’s the time to get started thinking about those prompts! Check back on March 1st for another post with more details and a link to the sign-up form. We’re so excited to get underway again, and we hope you are too!

We’re rounding the corner on deadline day! Assignments are due on April 29th at 11:59 PM PST (What time is that for me?)
A few quick notes and reminders:
- If you’re interested in submitting a bonus assignment – well, you’re awesome, first of all! But bonus assignments do not have to be turned in by deadline. The collection will stay open for extra fics/late assignments/pinch hits/etc. after the deadline as we sort out everyone’s submissions. There will be a 48 hour warning sent out to all participants before we close the collection and reveal works (no later than May 6th).
- Reminders and tutorials on how to submit fic, art and fanmixes can be found here.
- Please make sure there is no identifying information in your submitted work during the anonymous period. You’re welcome to add in as much as you’d like after creator reveals! (Mods will check the collection before closing it, but if you have a moment to check over your submission for identifying details, it’s much appreciated! :))
As always, and perhaps now more than ever, please feel free to message or email us if you have any questions or need anything from us. We’re here to help, and we both know all too well what the deadline crunch is like!

There’s (roughly) one week left until the deadline for assignments. Submissions will close April 29th at 11:59 PM PST (What time is that for me?)
As a reminder, here’s how to submit your assignments:
- Fic: Submit to the collection on AO3 (Tutorial)
- Art: Either submit to the collection on AO3 or to our tumblr
- Fanmix: Submit to our tumblr (Tutorial)
Works on AO3 will remain anonymous until creator reveals, and your mod team will ensure the anonymity of art/fanmixes posted to the tumblr.
You can also still request a beta or sign up to be a beta, or get your full request summary at any time.
As always, don’t hesitate to give us a shout if you have any questions!

Prompt Claiming has closed!
Mar. 14th, 2017 12:01 amsailor Thanks to everyone for getting their requested prompt claims in, now we can begin the matching process. From an initial survey of the claims, everyone is matchable, which is great news! We will send out the assignments via email by March 18th at the latest (hopefully a little sooner!), so be sure to keep an eye on your inboxes.

Participants will receive an email when prompt claiming opens on March 6th. Claims will run until March 13th.
Unlike more traditional prompt fests, claims will not be matched based on first-come, first-serve. So don’t worry if life happens and you won’t be around to submit your claims asap.
